LG Announces Three New Series of LED TVs to Support HDR Technology

Super UHD is the name of the latest LG TV. Recently, the company released three series of Super UHD TVs. They have not used OLED technology and still use LED liquid crystal technology.

Currently only one LG company on the market uses OLED technology in TV size. In the media test, the picture quality of OLED technology TV easily exceeds the LED LCD TV. LG has not announced any OLED TV plans this year.

The three series of Super UHD TVs are UH9500 (55 inches to 86 inches), UH8500 (55 inches to 75 inches) and UH7700 (49 inches to 65 inches). The three series of televisions support LG's so-called "HDR Plus" technology. The company said that this technology "integrates features that can improve the overall performance of TVs (including color and contrast) and can give users more than HDR-compatible technologies. Experience." In addition, these features include brightness and black-scale performance. At the same time, LG also said that the "SDR-to-HDR" engine equipped on this series of TVs enables users to enjoy HDR content from any standard source.

HDR is an abbreviation of "High Dynamic Range", and it is expected that this technology will become the theme of television manufacturers at this year's CES conference. For last year's 4K technology, it does not represent more pixels, but better pixels.

The UH9500 and UH8500 in the three series have a wider color gamut, and the color gamut under the DCI standard is as high as 90%, which enables a more realistic display of compatible screen content. At the same time, the three series of televisions have improved the reflection of light under bright rooms and also improved the contrast of the picture. All of them will be preloaded with LG's Web OS 3.0 system.
