IT and OT form the Internet of Things IOT

What is a gateway?
The gateway is the intermediate interface between IT and OT, and is the filter for the cloud in the Internet of Things. The gateway product from Dell appears to be an operational technology OT. It has many connections and can be compatible with many legacy protocols in the past, from analog to data. Moreover, the gateway is very capable of meeting the requirements of different conditions in industrial design, and can meet the working conditions from 30 degrees below zero to 70 degrees above zero. Devices like this are not only placed in the data center, but also placed under the desktop, and can be placed in very difficult environments such as boiler rooms and ships. This is what the external is OT, which is a technology-oriented product.
Internal is IT, the operating system is the most familiar operating system for IT staff, you can use Windows, you can also use Linux. The management tools you use to manage devices and data are exactly the same as those for data centers and desktops. In general, connecting the two worlds of OT and IT is the gateway.

The Dell Gateway product itself has the ability to lock on every port and does not store the data of the corresponding sensor that should not come in. IT and OT in this area need to cooperate, IT has the ability to lock some ports, but if the OT department's people need to open this port, they need to inform the IT department in advance.
China's Internet of Things accelerates development
First of all, China's manufacturing base is very large, and the very important application of IoT is to improve the efficiency of manufacturing.
Second, China's population is very large, and China needs to build many smart cities. Due to these air pollution problems, traffic congestion problems or transportation issues, IoT plays a very important role in this regard.
Thirdly, this is my personal impression, because I have been dealing with China for 15 years in business. I feel that Chinese companies are very innovative and are at the forefront in adopting new technologies.
In addition, I have reached a conclusion in the process of communicating with many different clients around the world, including the government. The governments of Asia, especially China, have invested far more in IoT than some countries in the West.
