Beijing time on March 2 morning news, Microsoft this week announced the Windows 10 IoT Core internal preview version for the cheap ARM computer Raspberry Pi 3. The user is currently available for download.
However, Windows 10 IoT Core is weak. Therefore, it is still not realistic to use the Raspberry Pi 3 to build a fully functional computer.
Microsoft announced that it has registered a Raspberry Pi customization project. With the BSP (Board Support Package) and Windows 10 IoT Core from Microsoft, OEMs will be able to develop their own version of the Raspberry Pi to meet different requirements.
Microsoft seems to be very willing to participate in the mission of the Raspberry Pi, which is to popularize computer education for children. However, considering that Windows 10 IoT Core is closely integrated with Azure cloud computing services, these initiatives of Microsoft have their own purposes.
Support for the Raspberry Pi 3 also reflects Microsoft's plans for the IoT market. Microsoft hopes that Windows 10 will become an operating system for all types of devices.
