2016 major foreign car companies important electrification technology

In the blink of an eye, at the end of the year, looking abroad, some important and influential electrification technologies have emerged this year. The author has sorted out this and made some predictions on the development trend next year. I hope to give some reference to domestic counterparts.

One, 200 miles of low-cost pure electric vehicles

The cruising range of Tesla Model 3 and Chevrolet Bolt two electric vehicles reached 200 miles in 2016, and after deducting subsidies, they touched the price of 30,000 US dollars. This price-performance ratio has begun to see new hopes.

The statement given by Tesla is relatively simple, and there are two means to reach this state:

1. Reduce costs by higher energy density and reduce kwh by equivalent materials

2. Reduce battery costs through economies of scale

GM's answer is to lower the price of the monomer. The company's executive Mark Reuss predicts that the future cost of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles is expected to drop to $145/kWh, and even more likely to reach $100/kWh after 2021. .

Jon Bereisa, chief executive of consulting firm Auto LectrificaTIon, predicted that the price of the pack would be about $215/kwh and the entire battery would cost $12,900.

From the perspective of the entire battery pack, it is a big improvement over the previous one:

This part of the upgrade is a drastic change, towards high-capacity batteries and high mileage, with relatively low prices. Technically, since the two car companies have not released more detailed data, we can only say that this technology is worth tracking and expecting, and whether the cost reduction brought about by the pursuit of high energy density is established depends on these two benchmark models.

Second, the updated battery system

The pure electric vehicles that currently sell more in the market are counted as LEAF and BMW i3, and both of them have agreed to use upgrades to improve their battery life.

The upgrade system is because the system of the original model has been defined, and the improvement in the unit and layout can bring some improvement, but the bad thing is that the residual value of the vehicle in the previous period is further reduced.

Nissan's route is a small step to improve the battery's chemical system, resulting in a 23% increase in monomer capacity and a 23% increase in Pack.

The situation of this route is relatively stable and stable, but the former old car owners can be pitted.

Third, modular HEV, PHEV and EV models

1. There are still two models worthy of our attention this year. The first is the replacement of the Toyota Prius.

Toyota uses a modular approach that meets the requirements for lithium-ion, nickel-hydrogen battery compatibility, and PHEV placement in HEVs.

2. Another product worthy of our attention is the Hyundai Motor series.

Under the large frame, the whole car realizes modular design. The whole EV is equipped with 28Kwh battery and superimposed on the original system. The HEV and PHEV realize the modular structure.
