I. Introduction

The status of the existing monitoring system

The main transmission methods of the local network monitoring system are DDN, Modem, ISDN, and 2 Mbit/s private lines, all of which are point-to-point transmissions. Considering that the DDN and 2 Mbit/s leased line resources in the access network are limited, the real-time monitoring performance of the Modem and ISDN transmission modes is not stable. If point-to-point transmission is used, there are too many central equipments and the operating and maintenance costs are too high. Therefore, most systems today are 2 Mbit/s extraction slot mode. With the development of broadband networks, it becomes easier and easier to obtain broadband network resources at various access points. By using these broadband network resources and adopting the TCP/IP method, access points can easily establish contact with the monitoring and management center and the database, and at lower cost, the power equipment, room environment, security, and fire protection of access points can be used. The video and other information are monitored under a unified platform.
