However, even if the SSID composed of letters and numbers is not set to "broadcast", intruders can scan the corresponding wireless network and successfully invade through bt3, bt4, network ant and other tools. Only by modifying the SSID information to Chinese can the above problems be completely avoided. The reason is, on the one hand, because Chinese characters will display garbled characters in these software; on the other hand, because many intrusion tools are developed by foreign developers, and they are not supported and incompatible with Chinese.

There are some devices on the market that fully support the Chinese SSID wireless network settings, but there are many devices that do not support the use of Chinese to name SSIDs. In this case, you can use two methods described in this article to solve it.

Choose from two methods of modification

1. Browser Method

Device requirements: The device requirements are relatively low. Even if you have not brushed the third-party firmware such as DD-WRT or Tomato for the wireless router, you can use this method to modify the SSID to Chinese.

The firmware used by the author's wireless router is DD-WRT. When the SSID information of the wireless network is changed to a Chinese name and saved, it prompts "The wireless network name (SSID) contains an illegal ASCâ…¡ code". This is because the wireless router management interface is written by JSP, and many JSP statements do not support Chinese characters well. The purpose of using the browser method is to make the wireless routing management interface support Chinese encoding.

The first step: Since many wireless router management interfaces are made through JSP or JAVA programs, you can remove the restrictions on the Chinese SSID wireless network settings by prohibiting the loading of JAVA components. Since IE browser has no related function by default, it can only be solved by using Firefox browser. First, access the wireless router management interface through the Firefox browser, and garbled characters will appear by default.

Step 2: Set the language to "Chinese" in the "Character Encoding" of the Firefox browser to solve the garbled problem. At the same time, deselect the "Enable" option in the Firefox browser.

Step 3: Re-refresh the management page, enter the Chinese SSID wireless network setting information again and save it, and the prompt of "illegal ASC II code" will no longer appear.

Step 4: After saving, you can see the wireless network whose SSID is changed to Chinese characters through the wireless scanning function of the operating system. After the setting is completed, you must re-select the "Enable" option of the Firefox browser, so as not to be affected when browsing other pages in the future.

2. Telnet method

The Telnet protocol is a member of the TCP / IP protocol family and is the standard protocol and main method of the Internet remote login service. It provides users with the ability to complete remote host work on the local computer. Use the telnet program on the end user's computer to connect to the server. End users can enter commands in the telnet program, and these commands will run on the server as if they were entered directly on the server's console. The server can be controlled locally. To start a telnet session, you must enter a user name and password to log in to the server. Telnet is a commonly used method of remotely controlling a Web server.

Device requirements: This method requires that the wireless router has the Telnet service turned on, but not all wireless devices turn on the service by default. You need to make sure that the service is turned on before proceeding.

Only wireless routers with Telnet service enabled can be set using this method.

The first step: Under normal circumstances, the wireless router with the third-party firmware such as DD-WRT or Tomato will open the Telnet function by default, and some D-Link and Linksys wireless routers also have related functions. Just enter "Telnet through the command prompt window

"Wireless router management address" can be detected, if there is a prompt to enter a user name and password, it means that the function has been turned on.

Tip: The user name entered in the Telnet state is always root, and the password is the same as the account password in the graphical management interface.

Step 2: After entering the wireless router command line management interface through Telnet, you can use nvram set

wl_SSID = "Chinese SSID name" command to set a Chinese SSID, for example, the author enters nvram set

wl_SSID = "Nuan Zheng", then the SSID broadcast network information will be set to "Nuan Zheng".

Step 3: After the modification, you can view the changes of the SSID information through the graphical management interface in real time, but there will be garbled characters and you can ignore it.

Step 4: Next, use the nvram commit command to save the settings made in the command line management interface, and finally restart it through the reboot command.
