Canadian lighting design company Lightemotion combines the use of dramatic lighting with architectural lighting design to create a truly immersive environment for Revel, the newest casino resort in Atlantic City, USA, which has received numerous acclaim before its grand opening.
It is said to be fashionable, refined and a new benchmark for casino resorts. The $2.4 billion project is Atlantic City's most expensive casino to date and the largest construction project on the West Coast of the United States, which will surely stimulate the city's gambling and tourism industry.
At first, Lightemotion's mission was to design lighting for Cabaret and Ovation Hall, and a 5050-seat convertible theater in the resort. However, after the resort unveiled its infinite design value to Scéno Plus, the interior design team proposed to appoint Lightemotion to design the 12077m2 casino and Ultra Lounge. In the end, Lightemotion was appointed to design a number of different public spaces throughout the resort, which Lightemotion founder Francois Roupinian called “the evolutionary environment created by lightingâ€, including the casino's own space, the road to the outdoor ocean, and the pool. Play area, main entrance, Ellipse and its grand staircase.
Roupinian said: "Our mission is very clear, creating an intoxicating, energetic atmosphere that creates exciting things with amazing elements."
In such an economic situation, it is necessary for designers to maximize efficiency and reduce expenses. Lightemotion combines a large number of lighting fixtures with interior design, all of which are long-life and low-cost, and there is no precedent in the casino world.
