In June 2014, a total of 20 experts from the National Institute of Economics and Research and Design Institute of the system, substation, line and technology and other professionals gathered together to start working together to study the Taizhou 1000 kV substation and ±800 kV Taizhou The technical plan and design principles for the construction of the converter station. After the completion of the technical and economic comparative analysis of the sub-construction and construction projects, the State Grid Development Department and the State Grid DC Department, the Communication Department, the Infrastructure Department and the Transportation Inspection Department organized the State Grid Economic Research Institute, the Chinese Academy of Electric Power and related design units. The joint working group conducts a number of overall optimization designs to clarify the detailed design principles associated with the joint construction. After repeated research and discussion, it was finally determined that the Taizhou ±800 kV converter station and the Taizhou 1000 kV AC substation were constructed in the joint site of Xinghua City, Taizhou. In October of the following year, the Taizhou ±800 kV converter station adopting the joint construction plan was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission.
