TCL said that in the first three quarters, the multimedia (television) business achieved operating revenue of 22.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12%, and net profit of 100 million yuan, down 79% year-on-year. In the third quarter, revenue fell by 2.5% year-on-year, and a loss of 110 million yuan in a single quarter was mainly due to the decline in gross profit margin and the increase in research and development expenses due to inventory clearance.
In the first three quarters of the communication business, revenue reached 9.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42%, and a net profit of 0.15 billion yuan was realized. This was mainly due to the increase in gross profit margin caused by the scale effect of the rapid growth of smart phones.
In the first three quarters of the year, Huaxing Optoelectronics achieved revenue of 10.6 billion yuan, sales of 15.6 million LCD panels and modules, and realized a net profit of 1.4 billion yuan, of which operating profit was 1.1 billion yuan. The sales volume and profit scale exceeded expectations, from the whole machine panel. At the same time, the company announced that it will invest 24.4 billion yuan to build a second 8.5-generation LCD panel production line, including 30,000 pieces of monthly AMOLED production capacity.
