1. Before measuring, wipe the measuring rod, the probe and the clamping sleeve and the tested parts;

2. When measuring, the dial gauge should be clamped on the table frame or other firm brackets, and the clamping force should not be too large, so as to prevent the sleeve from being clipped and deformed to jam the pole;

3. Correctly match the “0” bit. First touch the probe to the reference surface and turn the pointer over 1-2 turns, then fasten the dial indicator. The purpose of rotating the hands in advance by 1-2 turns is to read positive and negative numbers in the measurement. Then turn to the dial, so that the “0” line on the dial coincides with the pointer, then lift the lever to drop it yourself, and check if the pointer is still in line with the “0” line. If it still coincides, the "0" bit is correct. If it does not coincide, re-rotate the dial and repeat the above actions to make them coincide.

4. When the dial indicator is used to measure the reading, the number of millimeters can be read from the number of squares rotated by the number of revolutions. The millimeter fraction can be obtained from the starting position of the large quotient. When making a relatively wide range of measurements, the large pointer and the number of revolutions are remembered at the beginning to facilitate reading.

6. When reading the dial indicator, the eyes should look at the vertical to avoid the reading error caused by the bias.
