The third layer, the **cloud system**, represents a cloud-based platform for managing vehicle operations and information. Its ecosystem includes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), logistics, passenger and freight services, hazardous vehicle management, auto repair, car rental, enterprise vehicle management, and more. As a hub for multi-source, large-scale data, it requires cloud computing capabilities such as virtualization, security authentication, real-time interaction, and mass storage. The application system revolves around data aggregation, calculation, scheduling, monitoring, and management, forming a comprehensive platform for vehicle-related services.
It’s important to note that by 2013, GPS + GPRS was not truly an IoV or Internet of Things solution—it was just a combination of existing technologies. Many ITS experiments and IoV concepts in China at the time were based on this approach.
