As an upgraded version of the National 909 Project, the Zhangjiang Circuit Board Industry Park project will reach a new level of nanotechnology, eventually forming a production capacity of 35,000 units per month, with a total investment of 145 100 million yuan. At this point, the Zhangjiang IC industry will form a “big and small” development pattern. The 12-inch IC project is co-operated by two giant IC companies in Pudong, Shanghai Grace Semiconductor and Hua Hong NEC, and Shanghai Grace from Shanghai. City SASAC Holdings, is a professional chip foundry earlier built in Shanghai, currently has three 12-inch specifications of the plant and an 8-inch production line, the monthly production capacity is about 40,000. The other party, Hua Hong NEC, is a joint venture between Hua Hong Group, the main body of the "909" project, and NEC, Japan. At present, Hua Hong NEC has two 8-inch factories with monthly production capacity of approximately 60,000 pieces. This time, the two companies will upgrade to a 12-inch technology level based on the successful construction and operation of the 8-inch platform. Specifically, the independent project company Shanghai Huali Microelectronics Co., Ltd. was established and operated with a registered capital of 6.6 billion yuan. Among them, Shanghai local investment 4.5 billion, Hua Hong and Grace Semiconductor and other companies will invest a total of 2.1 billion. Relevant government agencies have already issued the first phase of a 200 million yuan construction subsidy for this project. According to the plan, this first 12-inch integrated circuit production line controlled by state-owned assets is mainly for the domestic market. The 90-65-45 nanometer technology grade will be put into trial production at the end of this year, with an average monthly production of 10,000 wafers. By the end of 2011, it will achieve a mass production scale of 20,000 wafers per month; by the end of 2012, it will reach a monthly production capacity of 35,000 wafers. .

"Big and small" pattern

Through more than ten years of industrial layout, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park has gathered more than 200 well-known IC companies at home and abroad. Among them, 5 of the top 10 chip design companies in the country have set up headquarters or branches in Zhangjiang. The entire park has seven 8-inch integrated circuit production lines, and the cumulative production capacity accounts for 70% of the country. The 12-inch integrated circuit production line newly invested in Zhangjiang is the second 12-inch semiconductor production project after SMIC. Shanghai is also the largest investment project in the high-tech field in recent years. As a result, two domestic most advanced 12-inch production lines have been gathered. “At present, the Zhangjiang IC industry has formed a pattern of 2 plus 7: that is, two 12-inch production lines and seven 8-inch production lines. This is the future of semiconductor manufacturing.
