BIOLIFE4D collaborates with Northwestern University to develop portable bio-3D printed heart organs

BIOLIFE4D is a medical technology company specializing in bio 3D printing and tissue engineering, working with Northwestern University through the recently signed Laboratory Services Agreement (LSA). Based on this collaboration, BIOLIFE4D in Chicago will receive the most advanced research facilities and resources from Northwestern University.

By leveraging the university's academic and research facilities, including its imaging lab, BIOLIFE4D's goal is to accelerate the development of its 3D printing technology . The ultimate goal is to create a portable human heart using its bio 3D printing system.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to leverage the laboratory resources from the prestigious Northwestern University, a groundbreaking scientific work that has taken place. The importance of these resources for a groundbreaking biotechnology company cannot be underestimated.” CEO of BIOLIFE4D Steven Morris commented.

He added: "As we continue to develop our technology, this is a huge opportunity for our company. It not only allows us to enter world-class laboratories, but also enables us to take advantage of the state-of-the-art research centers. Equipment, people and facilities. We want to change the world, and now we have the resources to do this."

BIOLIFE4D announced that it will launch the A+ (Small Initial Public Offering) Regulations in response to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The A+ rule gives BIOLIFE4D the opportunity to sell 5 million securities to the public at $10 per share (minimum investment of 25 shares). The goal of this release is to once again strengthen and accelerate the development of the company's biological 3D printing organization and organs.

It is worth noting that BIOLIFE4D said that investors who buy more than $100,000 in stock will have the opportunity to witness the first heart transplant of the BIOLIFE4D bioprinted heart.

The company's bioprinting process involves generating a three-dimensional model of the patient's heart based on MRI scans that can be digitally replicated in the same shape and size. Then, using cells obtained from patient blood and stem cell studies, BIOLIFE4D indicates that it is planned to "reprogram" blood cells and convert them into heart cells.

New (and patient-specific) heart cells are then added to the special biomass material in the bioprinter. Once the organ is established using bioink, the 3D printed heart can mature in the bioreactor until transplantation.

Although it sounds simple, there is still a long way to go before BIOLIFE4D implements the first 3D printed heart implant surgery. BIOLIFE4D hopes that the partnership with Northwestern University and its A+ regulations will help it achieve this goal.
