TI and Lemnis Lighting launch a complete LED lighting driver reference board

Texas Instruments (TI) and Lemnis Lighting announced the launch of a complete LED lighting driver reference board to help address cost, dimming and efficiency issues. The TPS92010 LED Light Reference Board uses TI's general-purpose LED lighting semiconductor technology and Lemnis Lighting's dimmable lighting application expertise to help accelerate the promotion of energy-efficient LED bulbs. The reference board will be available in the second quarter of the year, with a user guide that includes schematics, bill of materials, and test results to meet the design needs of dimmable LEDs.

This reference board uses TI's latest TPS92010 LED lighting controller. The TPS92010 off-line LED lighting controller uses a quasi-resonant, reverse power converter that delivers 87% efficiency for AC/DC LED lighting drivers, reducing shrinkage and cost. The TPS92010's control technology enables designers to develop compact, compact replacement lamp tubes and help reduce overall system cost. The device's system-level features such as overvoltage detection and shutdown prevent system damage caused by open LED strings, and its overtemperature shutdown feature protects the system from overheating.

Remko Gaastra, CEO of Lemnis Lighting BV (headquartered in the Netherlands), said: "TPS92010 will help Lemnis Lighting's Pharox® range of omni-directional LED replacement lamp tubes (shape A19-E26/27) deliver industry-leading lumens and efficiency , color temperature and dimming performance. The solution will achieve the best balance of power, size and efficiency, accelerating the process of replacing energy-saving LED lamps with traditional bulbs."

The TPS92010 is the first in a new family of TI LED controllers for general lighting applications such as residential LED luminaires, retrofit LEDs, commercial ventilators, downlights, wall luminaires, channel lighting, overhead lighting, and architectural and display lighting. Product.

Tim Goodrow, general manager of TI's Power Management Solutions product group, said: "At present, TI is leveraging its years of experience in LED backlighting to deliver efficient power management solutions to meet the needs of the rapidly growing general-purpose LED lighting market. TPS92010 and TPS92010 The LED light reference board confirms TI's ongoing commitment to helping customers solve their lighting design challenges, and they complement our broad range of power management devices, wireless and wired interfaces, and embedded processors for lighting applications. ”

TI and Lemnis Lighting will continue to collaborate on the successful development of the TPS92010 LED Light Reference Board, and continue to introduce future leading driver solutions for LED lighting applications.

Key Features and Benefits of the TPS92010 LED Light Reference Board

The TPS92010 LED Light Reference Board features a seamless, high-performance dimming interface for TRIAC (AC Controlled Triode) wall dimmers;

The TRIAC dimming interface circuit maintains high efficiency even during deep dimming (10% LED current produces 60% efficiency);

The reference board is an isolated low EMI driver that simplifies safety certification and complies with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.
