China's first self-customized VR standard introduced the first specification of head-mounted display equipment

Electronic enthusiasts eight o'clock: On April 6, the General Standards for Virtual Reality Head-mounted Display Devices, led by the China Electronics Standardization Institute, was officially released in Beijing. This is the first self-developed standard in China's virtual reality field. .

The "Virtual Reality International Cooperation, Open and Win-Win Forum and Industry Standards Release Conference" was held in Beijing on the 6th. The conference was hosted by Xinhuanet, a member of China Virtual Reality Industry Alliance, and China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute. The alliance is an industry organization established under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, bringing together a number of mainstream manufacturers and research institutions in the field of virtual reality.

Liu Siyang, deputy director of Xinhua News Agency, said in his speech at the conference that "the 13th Five-Year National Informationization Plan" will focus on the development of virtual reality, and it is necessary to vigorously promote basic research and development and frontier layout, and build a new field to take the lead. For virtual reality, we must understand from the perspective of participating in global science and technology competition and building a world of science and technology.

Zhang Feng, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in the conference that this standard will play an important role in promoting the sound development of the virtual reality hardware market. He believes that China's virtual reality industry is still in its infancy as a whole. Domestic virtual reality enterprises are also characterized by small, scattered and chaotic. The core key technologies are still insufficiently accumulated. The key components in the upstream and downstream of the industry chain are seriously lacking. New materials and ergonomic design. The related supporting facilities such as the policy system and development tools are still not mature, and the industry management still lacks effective means.

According to Lin Ning, secretary of the Party Committee of China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute, the standard specifies the performance definition, display method and measurement method of the external, integrated and shell-type three-in-one head-mounted display device, covering all helmet equipment in the market. Type, this standard can be used to standardize and guide the design, production, inspection and experiment of various virtual reality head-mounted display devices.

Lin Ning said that the work has been strongly supported by the alliance enterprises, and under the joint efforts of 11 major drafting units such as China Electronics Technology Standardization Research Institute, Beijing Institute of Technology, Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Storm Mirror Technology Co., Ltd. Through the requirements research, standard development, verification and other links, the draft standard was formed, and the opinions of the competent authorities and experts were fully heard and adopted, and the final draft of the alliance standard was formed.

According to reports, the China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute will take the lead in researching and developing virtual reality content standards. In addition, the forum also held the ceremony of the establishment of the Virtual Reality International Cooperation Committee.
