Gu Weixi believes that the most important prerequisite for the commercialization of smart cars is safety. He introduced that Baidu will solve the core problem of autopilot security through the combination of multiple sensors and high-precision maps. A multi-sensor combination consisting of a camera, ordinary radar and laser radar will be the mainstream hardware equipment for mass-produced autonomous vehicles. Among them, the laser radar has high precision and far-reaching visible range, but its cost is high. High-precision maps under artificial intelligence are an important force driving the revolution of automobiles and are the key to realizing automatic driving.
