Recently, Micr el Semiconductor has recently introduced high-brightness MIC3230/31/32 series LED driver products for 1W, 3W and even higher power LED solid-state lighting and general lighting applications. The MIC3230/31/32 series has a wide operating input voltage range from 6V to 45V.
With a 250mV feedback voltage to reduce system-level power consumption, the MIC323xLED driver family also offers programmable current control to drive a wide range of LEDs with different current levels. The entire product range can be boosted to very high voltages and can drive up to 70W of output power.
The MIC3230/31 has an adjustable operating frequency from 10kHz to 1MHz, and the MIC3232 has a fixed operating frequency of 400kHz, providing flexibility in design. In addition to enhanced power drive functionality and reliability, the MIC3230/31 is available in both 12-pin MLF? and 16-pin bare-pad TSSOP packages.
The MIC3231 provides jitter frequency capability with low EMI features that reduce EMI by up to 12dB.
All three products feature PWM dimming; enable pins for low power shutdown; overvoltage protection (OVP); overtemperature protection and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). The MIC3232 is available in an MSOP-10 package. All three integrated circuits are currently available in volume and are priced starting at $1.20 each.
