Panasonic and NXP teamed up to create a Blu-ray DVD recorder


Shanghai, China, January 13, 2010, NXP Semiconductors announced that Matsushita Electric has selected NXP's industry-leading DVB-T silicon tuner to introduce high-end Blu-ray DVD recorders that can receive terrestrial TV programs. With the NXP tuners, Panasonic Blu-ray DVD recorders can be integrated with high-quality digital motor reception to provide users with an all-in-one small size solution.

Panasonic's new DMR-BW770EF/BW870EF Blu-ray DVD recorder in France can directly record HDTV programs to Blu-ray discs.
