Liu Lihua said that broadband mobile communications is one of the fastest growing areas of global industry. At present, there are nearly 7 billion mobile communication users worldwide, and the penetration rate reaches 96%. In the past five years, China has added more than 100 million mobile users every year. As of the end of 2013, China’s mobile Internet users reached 500 million, and 80% of Internet users access the Internet via mobile phones. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will focus on creating a good investment, development and innovation environment for enterprises, supporting the promotion of operational enterprises to increase technical research and capital investment, and create a high-quality information and communication technology network. In particular, we will strengthen research and development of key technologies, conduct 5G research, and promote the continuous evolution of broadband mobile communication technologies.
Li Yongzhen, an investment consultant of Essence Securities, said that with the rapid development of the mobile Internet, there is a huge demand for massive data transmission, and faster technology is needed to realize it. The promotion of 5G research and development is imminent. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has strengthened its 5G research support, and it is expected to issue support policies in the future.
